Wow spring is here, the snow is melting and what nice weather we are finally having.
Some of the recent news for the community is the upcoming Garage sale. The League thought it would be a great idea to have a community wide garage sale, we will advertise and all you have to do is get your own license and have stuff to sell. We will be running a concession out of the Community league hall with a map for people to obtain for anyone who is having a garage sale that weekend. We hope we can make this a prosperous weekend for everyone!
Also we have not had any news about the School and what they are doing with it. The Planning departments 6 months is quickly turning into a year! Now that somehow is not surprising at all. This is also holding up our playground plans as we need to know what the school board is doing.
Preschool will also be holding registration for next year in April as well we will be hosting an open house. look for the dates in the upcoming newsletters.
Our AGM will be in May sometime, Date TBA still.
There are some spring break camps for kids in some of the bordering communities, information for those is in the newsletter. The newsletter can be found on the website at highparkcommunity.com
I hope everyone has a Happy Easter!

Welcome!
I'm Brandon Stewart, the President of the High Park Community League.
Not many people know much about me or the league in general, so I hope that this can be a good starting point.
I'm 24 years old, and I've been the President since summer 2006. I hope to bring some youth and energy to the community league, and the community in general. The community league is hoping to introduce new programs that will get people out, and involved with others.
As many of you know, the trend is that less people volunteer and are interested in government processes than ever before. We on the league hope to change that. We would like to get more people out to meetings, social events, and just meet new people around the community.
At the same time, we would like to address some of your concerns, such at the Hotel strip on 111th Avenue, and increased drug activity in both our community, and the city as a whole.
Most of all, we want your input! How can we address your concerns if you don't voice them?
I hope to hear from you soon.
